COMMISSIONS OPEN

Journal Entry: Sat Jul 25, 2015, 2:43 PM

I'm taking traditional and digital commissions to help me save up for a new tablet. (I have a GoFundMe, also, in a separate post. Check it out because it's a bit of a discount if you donate to it rather than directly commission me!)

Tradtional Prices
Sketches - Bust $25 - Full-body $30 (Sketches aren't colored.)
Colored - Bust $35 - Full-body $50

Digital Prices
Sketches - Bust $20 - Full-body $25 (NOTE: Digital sketches are usually colored with flat colors!)
Colored - Bust $30 - Full-body $45

The extra $5 in the traditional prices go towards shipping. I only ship within the U.S., so you may want to get a digital commission if you're outside of the U.S.
To commission me, send me a note or e-mail me at KijonaiaArt@gmail.com

ALSO: I have a referral program. If you refer someone to me and they commission me for at least $50, you get 25% off of any one commission. smile emoticon So, please feel free to share my info. heart emoticon

I love the concept here. Do you use a tablet? If not, I suggest getting one or getting a scanner.
With your style of coloring, I feel like lined work would suit you better. However, if you're looking to get started learning digital painting, there are some fantastic tutorials here on deviantART.

Aside from technical details, I think that the overall image is a bit too purple. As in... It is my opinion that more black in the background would have been good here. It would help to break up the image a bit to make it a bit easier on the eyes, and to make the red of the eyes really stand out.

Again, I love the concept, and I think you're onto a fantastic surrealism sort of piece here.
[G] Cosette by Lustanjo
This piece is so lovely! I adore the color scheme.
I feel like, really, the only things that could be improved are the anatomy a bit(and I'm not referring simply to your style; the paws and legs are a bit wonky), and the shading. Don't be afraid of going to dark when it comes to painting! Also, when it comes to realistic painting or even semi-realistic, you want to keep in mind that things are round and there is almost always more than one light source(either from a main light source and smaller secondary ones, or a main light source and reflected light). My best tip for keeping a painting from looking flat is too round out EVERY muscle with shading, lower it's opacity a bit, then go over with a new layer of darker shading, then add a new layer for your light source. (I'll be making a YouTube video about how I shade, since I'm bad at explaining it. Sorry! orz)

Anywho, hose are the only issues I see. The presence of it is really appealing and light and sweet. I adore it.

I think this is a beautiful concept. I think the only thing that could have made it a bit better is that the darker pieces overlapping the hands could have been lowered a bit more in their opacity to make it a bit clearer/cleaner/crisp-looking. I adore the tones used and I love the simplistic style of the character as she walks. That is, honestly, all that I can say about it to make it a bit better as the concept here and execution are already done so fantastically. I hope this helped a bit! Please feel free to note me if you adjust it, at all, as I would love to see if it did, in fact, make it any better. I'm not too sure on it.
Who's ready for my YouTube tutorials? The first of the series will be ready and uploaded Wednesday!

Oh, thank you so much! And you are oh-so welcome for the fave. :3
Full Sail gets a lot of crap, but it's actually a good school. Yes, it's for-profit, but the curriculum is actually great(at least for Computer Animation, which I'm going for). The teachers have actually been successful in the industry. I'll say what every other person who liked the school will say: It is what you make it. If you just do enough to barely get by, you're not going to learn anything. If you really dive in and REALLY listen to the teachers and REALLY be active in the classroom, you are going to learn a LOT. :) So, if you're considering it, I think it's a great option.

It's been a while since I looked at it. That's the one in FL right? If so (I was looking at a number of schools) I was first considering it because I wanted to go into video game design or some such (which has changed since then) and could have lived with my sister while I attended. However, I'm now aiming to get my Associates and then go to the Joe Kubert School of Drawing. Which is more specific to what I really want to do. :) I think honestly that goes for ANY school you go to. especially those that are specializing in a specific area. There is a school over here, BEAU, and only maybe 3 out of like 15 in the comicbook field are actually serious about excelling in comics/illustration. Way I see it, if you're spending the money and the time showing up to class, you better learn  and ask everything you can!
I'm currently going to the community college and I've found actually reaching out and interacting with the professors (the whole beyond just showing up) has really helped me with my personal portfolio and such because yeah, they're actually pros in the industry for decades. I'm not sure why anyone whose paying for higher education (whether with their parents money, their ownm or FAFSA) would just do enough to eek by but then again who knows XD

Right?? My thoughts exactly! Especially since, even after FASFA, I will owe $7k a year! Why go into such a huge debt if you're not going to try?

Anywho, they have online courses, too, which is what I'm doing as I live in Missouri and have a family of 4 that would make it hard to up and move. From what I've heard, it sounds fantastic, though! The only negative reviews seem to come from people who can't find jobs in their areas. Well, you have to consider that most jobs mainly consider your portfolio, not where you studied, sooo... :P lol At least in the art/entertainment industries.
